  Pele Bonita is Brazilian for “Beautiful Skin.” Mara is a trained esthetician born and raised in Brazil, a place known for sunshine, beauty and celebration.

  Learning her wax technique from her mother at an early age, and practicing on five sisters, Mara has over fifteen years experience. Keeping abreast of new trends, Mara constantly goes to conferences and beauty expos to expand her skills.

  In 2000, Mara came to San Francisco and fell in love with the city and its mix of cultures; the place where people are hot year round, even when the climate is cold. San Francisco was the perfect place to take her waxing skills to a professional level, because people here appreciate getting a Brazilian wax by a real Brazilian beautician.

  Just by word of mouth and over a short period of time, Mara has built a strong, repeat clientele of over 200 men and women, performing over 1,000 Brazilian waxes, a testament to her precision, artistry and individualized treatment.
